Kindersteam is an initiative that began in August of 2014 with a workshop arranged by Alicia Carroll at the Museum of Science for elementary teachers. What grew out of that workshop is a collaboration that involves my working in Alicia's kindergarten classroom at the PA Shaw, an elementary school that is part of Boston Public Schools. I help Alicia come up with engineering activities to do with our students and then do some of the legwork to make it happen. I lead the activities during their science time each week and  maintain our Kindersteam blog (kindersteam.com). This year the students did a pumpkin drop, and designed and built treehouses, as well as many other projects. See more about what we have done at https://kindersteamshaw.wordpress.com/.

This ear

Planning to build our beaver dam out of twigs, rocks and dirt.

The students build pumpkin packages out of balloons, straws, paper plates, plastic bags and tape. Then the Principal, Ms. Osei-Bobie, and I dropped them out of the classroom window.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.
