Learn 2 Teach, Teach 2 Learn received an AERA Research Grant to do research about the effects of Learn 2 Teach on the youth who participate in the program. 

 

We did participatory research as a team of staff, college mentors and youth teachers and worked with Dr. Jae-Eun Joo at UConn.  We met during the spring and summer to learn about ethnographic research methods and plan our research. We collected data throughout the summer via observations, activities, videos, interviews, surveys, and conversations and then met in the fall to analyze our data. 

 

A college mentor, two youth teachers and I presented presented our findings in a poster session at the Northeastern Educational Research Assocations (NERA) in October 2013.  We also did both a presentation and a poster session at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in April 2014.
